Weather: Our walking tours take place in (light) rain or shine – however in the event of expected moderate to heavy rains the tour will be canceled and guests will be notified. Guests then have the option of rescheduling or a full refund.

You will hear about Mary Jane Whittaker and her contemporaries on this story filled walking tour. As early homesteaders, they were faced with extreme heat of summer, swarms of insects, many snakes, alligators, and Indians!
While the 1920’s was “Boom & Bust” period, the memorable women of that time often went unnoticed by their male counterparts and history. We will change that with stories of the ladies even locals haven’t heard about!
At the end of the tour you will partake of a toast to these amazing women with a glass of wine, a copy of Bertha’s Brownies recipe and plenty of time to chat.
